What does this alert ticker show?
According to the German Police Crime Statistics, around 246,000 bikes are stolen in Germany every year (PKS 2024). Only a fraction of them end up in a public alert — but exactly these cases are what the ticker collects: public appeals about stolen bikes and recovered bikes whose owners the police are trying to find.
Every entry deliberately consists of the facts only — location, responsible authority, date — plus the direct link to the official alert page. Photos, details and contact information can be found there. Important: tips always go directly to the named authority, never to BikePass.

My bike has been stolen — what should I do now?
Report the theft to the police as quickly as possible — online via your federal state's internet police station or at a local station. Have the frame number, brand, model and photos ready. If your bike is registered in BikePass, all of this data is in the app and you can also report it there as stolen — the status is then visible to anyone who checks the frame number or BikePass ID.
I recognise my bike in an alert — who do I contact?
Always contact the police station named in the alert directly — every entry links to the official alert page with the authority's contact details. BikePass does not accept tips and does not forward any.
Why does the ticker show no photos and no detailed descriptions?
Alert photos and texts belong to the respective police authority and are subject to strict rules — among other things, they must be deleted as soon as an alert is withdrawn. The ticker therefore only takes over the facts (location, authority, date) and links directly to the official source for everything else.
How up to date are the entries in the alert ticker?
The sources are retrieved automatically every day. If an alert disappears from the official portal, it disappears here too — after 72 hours at the latest. The linked original police page is always the authoritative source.
