How BikePass ID works
CODE
Stick the two BikePass ID stickers in a clearly visible spot on the frame and battery—they're weatherproof, scratch-resistant, and UV-resistant.
REGISTER
Link the ID to your digital BikePass in just a few clicks.
PROTECT
Finders, buyers, and the police can scan your bike — a Europe-wide database helps in the event of theft.
What if the thief just peels off the sticker?
He can't get it off cleanly. The special adhesive can withstand several kilograms of tensile force—any attempt to remove it always leaves visible adhesive residue or paint damage.
And even if the sticker disappears, your bike remains protected: The registration is digitally linked to your frame number and continues to exist regardless of the sticker. To be perfectly honest: This makes it extremely difficult to remove—but of course not impossible. It just won’t do the thief any good.

FAQs about BikePass ID
What happens if a thief removes the sticker?
Your bike stays protected. The registration is digitally linked to your frame number and remains valid even without the sticker—the theft status can be checked at any time by anyone who finds the bike, potential buyers, and the police. The sticker serves as a visible deterrent, but the actual protection lies in the registry. Plus, the set includes two stickers for the frame and battery—a thief would have to find both of them first.
Can the BikePass sticker be removed without leaving any residue?
No. The special adhesive can withstand several kilograms of tensile force; any attempt to peel it off always leaves visible adhesive residue or paint damage—exactly where the vehicle identification number is usually located. This serves as a clear warning sign to any buyer. Removing it is therefore extremely difficult, though of course not impossible. But it’s of no use to the thief, because the registration remains intact.
What if the sticker gets damaged?
We'll replace a damaged sticker for free. You can then simply re-link the ID in the app. And even without a sticker, your bike remains uniquely yours thanks to the registered frame number.
How long do the stickers last?
BikePass ID stickers are UV-, weather-, and heat-resistant and feature a protective laminate. In material tests lasting 30 days, salt spray and continuous UV exposure had no visible effect on them, and they are also resistant to solvents and continuous abrasion. Under normal use, they last for many years—even in rain, snow, and intense sunlight.
What happens if something is stolen?
Report the theft in your BikePass account. The ID will immediately be marked as stolen for the police and anyone who finds it. If someone finds your bike and scans the QR code, they’ll immediately see the status and can contact you anonymously.
Can I transfer the ID to a new owner?
Yes. When you sell your bike, you can simply transfer the ID digitally to the new owner via the BikePass portal. This builds trust with the buyer and prevents misuse.
Does BikePass ID work with any bike?
Yes—the stickers adhere to all standard frame materials (aluminum, steel, carbon, bamboo) as well as e-bike batteries. Your warranty remains valid, since nothing needs to be engraved on the frame.
How much are the shipping costs?
Shipping within Germany costs €3.80. Delivery takes 1–3 business days via Deutsche Post or DHL.
Is the BikePass ID compatible with ADFC coding?
Yes. You can use the BikePass ID alongside an existing ADFC code or serial number. You can store both in BikePass—this gives you maximum protection for your bike’s identification.
